Last year on July 14th I cut my hair and started my hair journey. How did I come to this decision? Let’s go back to middle school. I had natural hair for the longest time.… More
This spring I saw that rompers where becoming the IT clothing to buy, which became a very handy trend. We all know that rompers are a full outfit ready to wear. So if you are a difficult person when choosing clothes, this trend is perfect for you.
I bought this romper right before spring arrived. I was digging the bright and neutral mix of colors and the artsy floral.
I wanted to bring out the brights in this outfit so I decided to pair it with a bright coral kimono and my BCBG bright coral and neutral clutch.
Stay tuned for another blog post where you guys are going to understand why my face doesn’t have make-up!
White is a huge trend for spring as well as wide legged pants. As white can be such plain color, often we accessorize it with color.
I decided to brake the white color with a nude sheer crop top and golden accessories. This color palette is also very huge trend for spring. You can take it many different ways and this time I took the sleek, young and professional route.
If you are using gold like I did, try to not go overboard.
These pants I bought aren’t really wide legged as the polazzo pants. They were more of a bootcut style.
Yet if you wear heeled sandals it gives it a streamline look, completing the outfit.

As you guys may have already noticed. Wednesday is events day on the blog and today I’ll be writing about the new fragrance I just got introduced to a couple of weeks ago. La tentacion de Nina by Nina Ricci.
On Friday, March 28th I attended the event where they introduces this new spray. A feminine perfume with the cutest packaging ever. If you are a pink lover than this is the perfect perfume bottle for you to buy and use as decoration.
“It is awakened desire, a call to the senses. Torn between the fear of mystery and its enticement, Nina has been tempted by a new experience, inviting the magic of dreams to enter reality. Like a forbidden fruit, indulgence calls to her like an irresistible invitation to temptation” -Source : Nina Ricci website
This perfume has a packaging of an apple, an bitten apple. When you see it you it gives a picture of Snow white in a more luxurious story. The mix of the pink and gold was just perfect. Usually this mix is a disaster, but Nina had the perfect ratio.
For the scent, well it was so soothing. A soft and sweet scent which is recommended for business women. It’s not overwhelming, but it does turn heads.
What I can say is that the perfume doesn’t last very long.
“La Tentation de Nina is an awakening of the senses. Italian bergamot adds a touch of freshness while grapefruit zest awakens desire. Raspberry, almond, lemon and Bulgarian rose absolute meld together to create a surprising macaron accord, a gourmand addiction. Finally, bourbon vanilla, white musk and sandalwood round out this swirling of youthful sensuality.” -Source : Nina Ricci website
At the event we got the chance to play a game. As I may call it the Nina Ricci guessing game. We had to smell every bottle and match the names. For someone that never had smelled the perfumes of Nina Ricci it was quite exciting.
And if I must say, I loved all the other fragrances.
Even though the experience at the event was short, I enjoyed every second of it.
Giveaways on Facebook is getting more and more popular. Everywhere you look there’s a new item you can win.
Often these are done to get more viewers on a page.
Last month I entered a giveaway that took place on Isles Jewelry’s Facebook page. For a while I’ve been eyeing their jewelry with the thought of one day to buy one.
Of course after seeing the giveaway I decided to enter and see if I had any luck of winning, and to my surprise I was the lucky winner.
Since it’s spring I decided to pair this beautiful necklace with a nice dress that complimented it.
I recommend you guys to visit Isles Jewelry’s shop. They have some awesome handmade jewelry.
On the old blog I had a series where I interviewed CuraGlammers that inspired me and that would inspire my readers. I decided to come back with this serie.
Today I’m introducing you guys to Bold Fashion Curaçao, an online fashion accessories store run by a nice girl named Junaiska Geferts.
For a while I’ve been seeing some nice and creative necklaces running around on Facebook and I was curious to find out who was making and selling these. I finally found out who was the face behind this online store and I arranged an interview with her so you guys can find out more about her creations.
We all have those days when we are bored and have a bit of inspiration to write, make something or just paint.
This is how Bold Fashion Curaçao started; Ms Junaiska was in her room looking for a way to get distracted. She was already making beaded necklaces for a while, but wanted to start making something more different & bolder, which makes a simple outfit stand out. That’s how the thought came to buttons. With some research done, she came to the right choice of materials and the right way to make these accessories last.
Using her surroundings, materials and outfits as inspiration makes her create unique and bold accessories.
Materials she uses are buttons, beads, feather, cloths and many more things. Lately she made a nice one for one of our fellow blogger over at Houseoffstyle with sand. A work of art that took at least two weeks to finish.
When she first started she told her sister about her idea and designs. Then she showed her creation to the family where she got a great feedback. After that she decided to go out there on the field and show more and more people her products where the reaction was also super great and started getting orders to make more. Being in the field she got also big offers like a fashion show with The Curaçao Next Ambassadors last year and the Curaçao Brunch Series (an event coming up this Sunday). There are also more big offers that she got, but you guys will have to stay tuned for that to get more information.
A work of art can take at least 3 hours a day. And every piece will always be unique so you’ll never have to worry that someone out there will have the same necklace as you.
She started giving some courses also on how to make these types of necklaces. I got to see some of the creations of the students that took part of the class and I got to say. They were really nice and gave me some more interest in learning how to make these necklaces. Of course the classes didn’t include super difficult creations and everyone from every age is welcome.
And as the name says: Bold Fashion Curaçao, it doesn’t stay only at making necklaces, but also bracelets and earrings. With the idea in mind to branch out to clothes and everything that has to do with fashion. With the latest request she got of making a dog leash with the materials she uses. So I’m definitely looking forward for this.
And lastly a tip she had for everyone that had the same crafty hand and wanted to start their own business is to just go ahead and do it. Nobody is going to do it for you. You just got to take the risk and do it. “Be proud of what you do, Carry it around with you”. Take this from her. She doubted herself too.

For a while already the beautyblender has been raved about. If you’ve seen it on Youtube or on blogs, anywhere you turned around it was there. Unfortunately if you live in Curaçao it means you have to order it which may be really expensive after shipping and everything.
Today I’m going to tell you guys my experience with the beautyblender and how I rate this product.
What is the beautyblender exactly?
– The original beautyblender® is a revolutionary makeup sponge applicator with 360 degrees of usable surface for creating absolute complexion perfection. This five-time Allure Best of Beauty Award-winner is ergonomically designed to meet your makeup needs. beautyblender® is the first high definition, neon pink sponge application tool that gives you everything from amazingly sheer coverage to a buildable full coverage. – Source : Sephora
Now reading that little bit of information you guys are still clueless of how the beautyblender works and what it benefits are.
Like every product that comes out we often look for the pro’s and the con’s to figure out if it’s worth spending the money.
I ordered my beautyblender via a friend. She was in the states and offer to buy it for me. So I took the chance and accepted the offer. So I can not say if she bought it in duo or just single. But this is how my package was.
It came in a plastic box as tiny as the beautyblender itself. The packaging is really cute and also comes in handy after the use of the beautyblender. Because while it’s drying you can just lay the spong on top of the box and it will easily dry like that.
As we go and take a look at the sponge, first thing you notice is that it’s bright pink. This color tends to fade after numerous times of washing and using. Only question will be is the color taking of with my foundation on my skin or is it when washing the product? A important question I think we all want to know the answer.
Also it is shaped as a egg where as at one end it is more pointy than a egg. Really small sized that fits right in the palm of your hands. After putting under water for a couple of times it sizes up. Most of us may be turning our head right now. Water? Yes. The beautyblender is ment to be used damped. It does not stay wet to the stage that water is dripping out of it, but it is damp to the stage that it applies your make up flawlessly.
This sponge feels tremendously soft dry as well as damped. While using it on you face it does not tug on the skin nor is rough.
How to use and maintain
When you want to use the the beautyblender there are some steps you have to follow before you use it.
1. Run the beautyblender under tap water.
2. While running the beautyblender under tap water squeeze it to get the water out.
3. Do not twist the beautyblender to get the water out. It will damage it.
4. If you find that after getting to its maximum size that the beautyblender is still to damped for you, you can always use a tissue and squeeze it in it to get more water out of it.
After using the beautyblender you have to clean it. You can use the cleaner you buy with it at Sephora or you can do like I did and just take a face cleanser and clean it off. So these are the next steps after you’re finished with it.
1. Wash the beautyblender with a cleanser until you can’t see any foundation color coming from the water.
2. After done washing press beautyblender in a tissue.
3. Put the beautyblender on its box and let it dry and get back to its size.
The beautyblender is not just any product you throw in your fully filled make up bag or anywhere on your vanity. Take good care of it and it will sure last you for a couple of months.
The Application method.
The Beautyblender can be used to apply foundation as well as concealer. Do notice that you have to use the liquid form. You can always try a creamy foundation or concealer, but it can become pretty difficult. In the demonstration I can only show how the sponge applied my foundation since I do not use liquid concealer.
For applying the foundation it is recommended to use the rounded bottom since it has a bigger area so can apply faster than the pointy end. The best way to apply the foundation is to pad the foundation on your face. Putting dots of the foundation on your face and then with the beautyblender patting it onto your skin. If you want it to blend a little more just slide it in circular motion.
If you do apply foundation under your eyes. You use the pointy end of the beautyblender. You use the same application form as when you apply foundation to your face. Only difference is that you don’t slide it in a circular motion. You can pat it or you can slide it from the inner corner to your outer face. I find this method the easiest and more controlled.
– Doesn’t absorb a lot of foundation
– Flawless application and finish
– The form is great for application
– Convenient to take along with you
– Unlike other sponges, this one can last quite a while.
– Very pricey, even more if you live abroad
– Can be unsanitary
– Takes some time to get it clean (I cleaned mine with a face cleanser)
– Takes a lot of time to get back to its original time
– Doesn’t get completely clean (Only tried with a face cleanser)
As you guys can see there are as many pro’s as there are con’s. But then again it varies with everyone. This is how I see and experience the beautyblender.
Other than that I have to say the price is a bit to much, even though it does its job. Paying 30$ and 6$ shipping just for a make up sponge? Well that’s a bit over the top isn’t it?
For a cheaper alternative you can buy just a simple inexpensive make up sponge, yet I don’t think if it will cost you less on the long run. But for now if you can’t splurge on it, just buy a cheap one and save up money to splurge on this item IF you are a make up freak.
Grade for this product : 8.5 /10 (with the thought of my student friends that are on a budget)
Well I hope this post gave you guys all the information you needed. If there is something else you guys want mi to review just comment down below and let me know.
On 22nd of Februari, as you guys remembered we went to the Phyto hair scope event. On that same they they also showcased some products of Roger & Gallet.
Fun Fact :
– Roger & Gallet makes you share the secret of a self care refined for a single moment of pleasure and sensory daily. Fragrance compounds from natural essential oils, scented soaps in heart created using the traditional method in a cauldron, care for the body to wrap textures. –
Source : www.roger-gallet.fr
Roger & Gallet is a brand launched in Paris 1862. Starting with a cologne which now branded out into body care products, bath & shower products and candles. A bit of everything that all of us need.
We got the chance to try out the soaps and smell all the flavored waters. Each soap had their match.
And all of them smelled A-MA-ZING.
We got the chance to try out the soap and I gotta say, for a first impression it was great. It didn’t leave my hand dry. Of course the scent it had was perfect too, it wasn’t too much but just right.
The size of the bar soap was also big, which can take a while to use up. And the packaging was to die for. After you’ve finished using the soap you can put it back in it package and put it away. And since they come in colors you can try to buy the one that fits you bathroom decoration.
For the scented waters, have to say. Nice packaging, simple but attractive and perfect smell. The scented waters can easily be used as a cologne because they are strong enough to stay on all day.
This product is available at The Yellow House/ Zylo.
Soon I will be doing a review on the soaps, so keep an eye out for that.
